
On the afternoon of April 27, the China–Europe Geographical Indications Development Alliance (GIDA) convened its first working meeting of 2026. The meeting was attended by Pan Feng, Chinese Chair of the Alliance’s Council, John Clarke, former EU Trade Negotiator, as well as representatives from various GI-related institutions from China and Europe. Participants engaged in in-depth exchanges on topics including the development of the Alliance, cooperation under the China–EU Geographical Indications Agreement, and key activities for the year. All parties expressed their commitment to actively participate in major events such as the China–EU Relations Forum, the Second Global Geographical Indication Products Expo, and the China International Import Expo. Experts from the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Chinese Academy of Sciences also attended the meeting. The meeting further clarified the Alliance’s work priorities for the year and contributed to advancing deeper cooperation in the China–Europe geographical indications sector.
